Issuance of New Stamp Certificate and Stamp Official Receipt for Payment of Stamp Duty through STAMPS Effective from 1 Jan 2018
On 22 Dec 2017 we received a letter from Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (“LHDNM”), dated 30 Nov 2017, informing us that it will issue a new version of the format for the stamp certificate and stamp official receipt, from 1 Jan 2018 (Monday).
The new version is to replace the existing stamp certificate and stamp official receipt, to enable the verification of the authenticity of stamp duty payments made through the Stamp Assessment and Payment System (“STAMPS”).
Documents that have been duly stamped using the earlier version (before 1 Jan 2018) of the stamp certificate and stamp official receipt are still valid as proof of stamping.
The letter from LHDNM — which also sets out the new version of the respective formats of the stamp certificate and stamp official receipt, together with the guidelines on verification of authentication of stamping — is attached for your reference.
