Existing Firms – Submission of the Renewal Proposal Forms

The benefits of Online Submission:

  • Hassle free – no queues or traffic;
  • Do it at your own time and convenience;
  • Invoice generated immediately upon completion of Proposal Form - not available to firms who have notified a claim or circumstance in the past 5 years.
Sometime in July, Marsh will email Firms requesting them to provide the name, and email address of an authorised person

Marsh will then email the new User ID and Password to the email address provided. 

NOTE: The User ID and Password for the last renewal cannot be used for the coming Renewal.

If you do not receive your new User ID and Password by the 2nd week of August, please contact Marsh at:

Generally, renewal of the PII begins in August or Septmber of a particular year.

You will receive an email from Marsh by the first or second week of August, inviting you to submit your Proposal Form online.

If you do not receive the email notification for online renewal, please contact Marsh.

Online Manual
  1.  Log in via Praktis with your Access Code.
  1. Download a copy of the Proposal Form by clicking here.
  1. View your Proposal Form pre-filled with last year's data and make changes, if any.
  1. Complete the Proposal Form.
  1. Click “Confirm and Get Mandatory Invoice” after ticking the "Authorise" and "Declaration" boxes.
  1. Sign the Declaration.
  1. Click Generate Invoice to make payment.
NOTE: If you have reported a notification, you will only receive your invoice after Marsh has verified the information.
  1. Submit the Proposal Form to Marsh by:
a. Fax at 03-2723 3301 / 3303;
b. Email to mbar@marsh.com; or
c. Mail to:

  1. Make payment to Marsh by Cheque or Online Banking to the Bank Account stated in the Invoice (Note: cash payment is no longer accepted.  Forward payment transaction to Marsh for their records.
  1. Marsh processes Proposal Form within 2 working days.
The same applies for walk-in submissions of Proposal Forms.  However, you have the option to use the laptops provided on-site at Marsh to submit your Proposal Form online and obtain your invoice instantly.  *Refer to Online Submission.
  1.  Policy Schedule delivered by email after payment is received by Marsh.

  1. Marsh sends invoice by fax.

  1. Policy Schedule delivered by email or mail after payment is received by Marsh.

This could be due to your firm having notified a claim or circumstance during the past 5 years.  Your submission will be reviewed and processed within 2 working days and your Invoice will be sent to you.

If your firm has no history of any notification or claim, please call or email Marsh for clarification.
Write to Marsh setting out the corrections to be made to the Proposal Form.  Marsh will verify the corrections and issue you a corrected Policy Schedule.
If a Partner or Legal Assistant left the firm prior to the inception of the Policy (ie 1 January), the Insurer will refund the premium paid for that individual. 
There is no additional premium due for the current Policy Year insurance but premium will be charged for the renewal of the subsquent Policy Year's insurance.
Give written notification to Marsh Immediately.  It is not necessary for you to amend the Proposal Form that you have submitted.

You have an option to purchase Top-Up insurance after you have completed the PII online renewal.  This Top-Up option is quoted by the PII Scheme Insurance Broker, Marsh.

Alternatively, you have the option to purchase Top-Up insurance from other insurance providers in the market.

Please note that Bar Council does not oversee indemnity insurance needs above the mandataroy requirement.
