Industries and Economic Activities in Klang Can Continue to Operate

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (“MITI”) has issued a media statement today (8 Oct 2020) entitled “Industri dan Aktiviti Ekonomi di Klang Boleh Terus Beroperasi”.

We would like to highlight to Members the part in the media statement where it states that all economic sectors in the Klang District are allowed to continue operating as usual with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”).  The authorities have been directed to enhance enforcement of SOP compliance to ensure the safety of workers and the public in the District of Klang.

We also advise law firms to issue a letter to their employees confirming their status in the firm, so that employees who may need to travel in and out of Klang, may produce the letter to the authorities.
