Extension of Closure of Bar Council Secretariat and Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board Secretariat Due to Total Lockdown

We refer to Circular No 200/2021 entitled “Temporary Closure of Bar Council Secretariat and Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board Secretariat Due to “Total Lockdown Phase 1” dated 31 May 2021, and the announcement made by Senior Minister (Security) and Defence Minister, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on 11 June 2021 with regard to the extension of MCO 3.0 or the “Total Lockdown”, from 15 to 28 June 2021. 

With the announcement made on the extension of the Total Lockdown on 11 June 2021, please be informed of the following:

(1) Extension of the Closure of the Bar Council (“BC”) Secretariat, BC Library and Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board (“ASDB”) Secretariat from 15 to 28 June 2021

(i) BC Secretariat

Although the physical building at Wisma Badan Peguam Malaysia will be closed, members of the BC Secretariat staff will be working remotely.

To contact the Secretariat, please call the general line at 03-2050 2050, or send an email to council@malaysianbar.org.my.

(ii) BC Library

Kindly be informed that while the physical library is closed, we are still able to undertake some of our services to Members, such as those relating to cases and legislation.

Members who require cases and legislation can send an email to library@malaysianbar.org.my or call the Library at 03-2050 2084, and the Library staff will respond to these requests.

(iii) ASDB Secretariat

Please note that while the physical premises of the ASDB Secretariat will be closed, members of its staff will be working remotely.
