Hearing of Civil and Criminal Cases in the Sessions and Magistrates’ Courts
in Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Bangi and Kajang Beginning 18 Jan 2021

The Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court of Malaysia had issued a media statement titled “Pendengaran Kes Sivil dan Jenayah bagi Mahkamah Sesyen dan Majistret di Mahkamah Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Bangi dan Kajang Bermula 18 Januari 2021” dated 2 Dec 2020 (see pages 3 and 4).

We would like to highlight to Members the part in the media statement where it states the following:

(1) Effective from 18 Jan 2021, the Sessions and Magistrates’ Courts at four locations in Selangor, namely in Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Bangi and Kajang will begin hearing both civil and criminal cases under the jurisdiction of their respective Courts.

(2) For the purpose of transformation and to simplify the work process of a case, the e-Court system has been expanded to complete the reorganisation of civil and criminal cases heard in the above-mentioned Courts.
