Discontinuing the Use of Facsimile Machines as A Correspondence Medium
between Stakeholders and the Federal Court and Court of Appeal

The Chief Registrar of the Federal Court, Tuan Ahmad  Terrirudin bin Mohd Salleh, has extended to us an email entitled “Penamatan Penggunaan Mesin Faksimile Sebagai Medium Surat Menyurat Pemegang Taruh (Stakeholders) dengan Mahkamah Persekutuan dan Mahkamah Rayuan”, dated 1 July 2020.

We would like to highlight to Members the part in the email where it states that starting from 1 Jan 2021, all correspondence with the Federal Court and the Court of Appeal will be via email, and that facsimile will no longer be used.

The relevant portion of his email is reproduced below.

PENAMATAN PENGGUNAAN MESIN FAKSIMILE SEBAGAI MEDIUM SURAT MENYURAT PEMEGANG TARUH (STAKEHOLDERS) DENGAN MAHKAMAH PERSEKUTUAN DAN MAHKAMAH RAYUAN

Dengan hormatnya saya merujuk kepada perkara di atas.

2.         Adalah saya telah diarahkan oleh Yang Amat Arif Ketua Hakim Negara, Tan Sri Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat untuk memaklumkan bahawa berkuatkuasa 1 Januari 2021, semua urusan surat-menyurat kepada Mahkamah Persekutuan dan Mahkamah Rayuan akan menggunakan e-mel dan tiada lagi pengunaan faksimile. Oleh itu, alamat e-mel Mahkamah Persekutuan dan Mahkamah Rayuan adalah seperti berikut:
