Violent Incident at Kuala Lumpur High Court Parking Area

The Bar Council is disturbed by reports of a violent incident at the Kuala Lumpur High Court parking area on 13 February 2020.

According to media reports, a sword was flung at a lawyer by an unknown assailant on a motorcycle at the parking area.  Another lawyer was kicked by the same assailant while walking towards the Court Complex.

A police report has been lodged, and investigations are ongoing under section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. 

In light of this incident, the Bar Council strongly urges all Members of the Bar to take extra precaution and be alert to suspicious individuals when using the parking area at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
