Reissuance of Practising Certificates with Serial Numbers

On 7 Nov 2017, the Registrar of the High Court of Malaya notified the Bar Council that:

     (1) the Court has inadvertently issued Practising Certificates (“PCs”) without serial numbers;
     (2) the processing of PCs filed from 7 Nov to 17 Nov 2017 would be suspended, due to a system upgrade; and
     (3) PCs that have been issued without serial numbers will be reissued.

A meeting was held with the Court on 24 Nov 2017 where we sought clarification from the Court and urged them to expedite the issuance of PCs.

It is due to this system upgrade that there are currently a substantial number of PCs that have not yet been issued by the Court.  

Members who have received PCs without serial numbers will be issued new PCs bearing serial numbers.  These affected Members will receive a notification by email from the Office of the Registrar of the High Court of Malaya, containing a link that they can click on in order to download their new PCs.
