Malaysia Competition Commission’s Proposed Amendments to Competition Act 2010 (Act 712)

The Malaysia Competition Commission (“MyCC”) had on 25 Apr 2022 issued an invitation to the public and relevant stakeholders to take part in a public consultation on MyCC’s amendments to the Competition Act 2010 [Act 712] by providing their opinions, views, inputs, and feedback on the said proposed amendments.

The amendments to the Competition Act 2010 include, amongst others, the amendments of provisions relating to investigations, enforcement powers and procedures, and settlement processes; and the introduction of a new merger control regime into the Competition Act 2010.

The Bar sought an extension of time to revert to MyCC with its comments, and MyCC agreed to an extension until 10 June 2022.
